WOULD A REGIONAL OFFICE LIE ABOUT NOT RECEIVING YOUR APPEAL IN CERTIFIED MAIL? SEE EXAMPLE OF HOW TO RESPOND.
This RO tactic is all too frequent by VA employees. In many cases, the RO waits until the appeal time limit has passed to notify the veteran. Although few veterans trust the Office of Inspector General OIG) to investigate the VA, veterans should notify the IG of any RO fraud or violation of law. Then the veteran should submit his or her notification letter to the RO as evidence. For simplification, my office concurrently notifies the OIG and the RO. SEE EXAMPLE.
