First, I'm very grateful to you ... for your excellent Cox websites.  I'm a Killebrew researcher working on their ties with Adams and Barrow in Jones and Onslow Cos. NC.  There are numerous connections between these families and the Coxes there.

Brothers Hinchey and John Killebrew removed from Sussex Co. VA likely with John Adams of adjoining Southampton Co. and his grown sons, William and Micajah, prior to 1779 and settled in Jones Co. on and near the Dobbs/Lenoir line.  HInchey adjoined Andrew Cox there.  Wm Adams married in 1781 Mary Gooding and Mary's sister Elizabeth married Aaron Cox.

Thomas Barrow married (1) Mary Killebrew and left Southampton Co. VA in 1748 and settled on the north side of Fishing Creek in then Edgecombe Co. NC (in that part that became Halifax Co. in 1758).  In 1760 he sold out and with his (2) wife Elizabeth moved to Onslow Co.  In 1761 he was deeded land in Onslow by Lewis Williams...wit: Moses Cox Jr.....

From Abstracts of Deeds Edgecombe Precinct/County NC 1732-1758 by Margaret M. Hofmann:

p183 (Edgecombe DB 5 p170) 21 Mar 1742/3 James Sanders of Edgecombe to CHARLES COX (county/state not identified) for L20 current money of VA, 320 acres north side of Fishing Creek adjoining said Sanders and Hardy Holmes, part of grant to James Speir 15 Oct 1736, wit: James Speir, Walter McFarlan.

p160 (Edgecombe DB 4 p509) 23 Jul 1753 CHARLES COX OF ONSLOW CO. to Richard Whitaker of Edgecombe for L35 320 acres north side Fishing Creek..., wit: Robert Whitaker, Gough Whitaker, Christian Kent.

I thought you might be interested in the above.  Others from Edgecombe/Halifax who settled in Onslow, Craven, Dobbs/Lenoir and Jones Cos. are Hustis Humphrey and William Wilkins to be sure, and likely many others.
